The Hong Kong Piping and Drumming Academy was established in 2018 by Cary Chung. The Academy aims to promote Scottish bagpipes in Hong Kong. In 2018 and 2019, the Academy arranged three world-renowned bagpipe and drum instructors from Scotland to Hong Kong to hold two one-week piping and drumming summer schools. Tutors include Major Bruce Hitchings MBE BEM, former Chief Instructor of the British Army Bagpipe School, Brian Alexander, former Drum Instructor of the British Army Bagpipe School, and Robert Watt, a former member of the Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band, 13-times World Pipe Band Champion.
香港風笛鼓樂學院由鍾治正於2018年成立。 學院旨在於香港推廣蘇格蘭風笛。學院分別在2018年和2019年由蘇格蘭安排三位世界知名的風笛和鼓樂導師來香港舉辦為期一個星期的風笛軍鼓暑期訓練班。導師包括前英國陸軍風笛學校總教官Bruce Hitchings 上校MBE BEM,前英國陸軍風笛學校鼓樂教官Brian Alexander,以及13界世界風笛錦標賽冠軍樂團Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band的前成員Robert Watt。

The Academy also held piping and drumming examinations recognised by the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework in the summer schools and open competitions for summer school and non-summer school attendants. McCallum Bagpipes in Scotland kindly sponsored the competitions; Dr Gavin Ure, former Chieftain of Hong Kong St Andrew's Society, awarded prizewinners.
學院亦都在訓練班中舉行由蘇格蘭國家學分和資格框架管理局(Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework)承認的風笛和鼓樂考試,以及一場非暑期訓練班參與者亦能參加的公開比賽,並得到香港蘇格蘭居民組織St Andrew's Society 的前主席Dr Gavin Ure出席頒獎和蘇格蘭風笛製造商McCallum Bagpipes 的贊助。

As a non-profit organisation, the Academy provided ten places for children in each summer school as an initiative to promote Scottish culture and to train the next generation of bagpipers and drummers in Hong Kong.

To further promote Scottish bagpiping and drumming in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Bagpipes and Drumming Academy was registered as a non-profit making society under the Societies Ordinance in 2021 (registration number CP/LIC/SO/19/63577). Currently, the Academy can arrange for interested parties to participate in piping and drumming accredited by the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework. The Academy can also set examination centres and accessors for candidates. In the long run, the Academy wishes to continue to hold summer schools and competitions. The above activities require vest human, material and financial resources. Therefore, if you are interested in piping and drumming activities in Hong Kong and can provide any support, please do not hesitate to contact us.
為了進一步在香港推廣蘇格蘭風笛, 香港風笛鼓樂學院於 2021 年根據《社團條例》註冊為非牟利社團 (註冊編號CP/LIC/SO/19/63577)。現時學院可以安排有興趣的人士參與由蘇格蘭國家學分和資格框架管理局(Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework)承認的風笛和鼓樂考試,學院可以為考生安排試場和考官。而長遠而言我們希望能夠繼續舉辦暑期訓練班和比賽。以上活動都需要大量人力、物力和財力。因此如果閣下對香港的風笛鼓樂活動感到有興趣和有能力提供任何形式的支持,請與我們聯絡。
